So I flashed my first Rom and now I'm having issues sending and recieving mms. Any ideas would be great.

what issues are you having? are you getting any error messages?

what *exact* steps did you take when you applied the ROM? ie: what did you wipe? did you use rom manager? did you check the md5 sum?

what rom did you install? where did you download it from?

and that tutorial you followed is pretty outdated.

did you use the rom manager app to install or did you manually boot into recovery?

1) i would redownload the rom. (check md5- see below)

2) manually go into recovery
3) wipe data
4) wipe cache
5) go to advanced, wipe dalvik cache

6) repeat steps 3-5
7) [optional] go to advanced, wipe system
8) install rom from zip
9) reboot

first boot will take a while (5-10 mins)

md5 sums (long string of characters) should be listed wherever you download the rom from, you can use an app like "mand5" to generate a sum and compare with what the dev lists. This guarantees file integrity.

edit: i see you flashed synergy, you can also check over at the xda forums and see if anyone else is having similar issues.

if you want a sense rom, i always recommend nil's gingersense, i ran it for over a month with zero issues ( only changed because I wanted to try the new MIUI rom). First boot does take a LONG while though.

im such a newb i don't even know what the difference is between a sense rom and another rom. also i link would be awesome too as there are so many i'm still a little overwhelmed. also thanks a bunch for the answers!!!

only do a nandroid if you plan on using it again (synergy), or if you don't have any others.

But do run a batch backup in titanium: "backup new apps and newer versions" (or something like that)

i also recommend (and so does nils) to go into the advanced menu in clockwork and wipe system a few times before flashing.

so i don't have to delete this off my sd card then? the only other nandroid i did was before i flashed this rom which was the first one i've ever done. i might want to switch back to the synergy at some point but not sure when.

also how do i find out if the have the right radio and hboot. not sure where to look. thanks again for the answers. i've done a lot of reading but the personal help is appreciated!!!

you don't have to delete any nandroids off the sd card (as long as you have space, they can be like 800mb). You can move them to a pc for future use.

I'm confident you have the right hboot and radio, as you just recently rooted.
the hboot and radio needed are the ones that came with the official 2.2 update.

your hboot and radio can be seen in the bootloader. Easiest way to get to it, is to download "quick boot" from the market.

awesome, that miui rom looks pretty awesome as well. damn now im addicted....... LMK what you think of the miui after you flash it. thanks again man!!!!

i love miui, i switch back to it every couple months. I started running it again on 8-5 (it is updated weekly). You can check out miui.us for more info on it. They have a huge community.

the versions can be confusing at first, last set of digits is the date it was released 1-8-5 (august 5th) 1-8-19 (august 19th)

Then sometimes there will be another digit at the end if they patch it ie: 1-8-19-1
