Help MMS Issues

AGAV13

Newbie
My Thunderbolt will not send or receive MMS messages. I have tried using stock messaging, Handcent, and Chomp. When trying to download a MMS received it will say downloading then give me a message saying there was an error, when trying to send it will do the same thing, show that it is sending but then i receive an error message. Anyone having similar issues?

have you attempted to log in to your Verizon account online to see if those MMS were successfully counted against your texting quota?--or to see if they were indeed received but stored on Verizon's servers and never made it to your phone?
(i had this issue with Sprint. people would send me pix message, never fully download to my phone--but would stay on Sprint network servers i had to access via the web portal for picture messaging, so i never got pix messages on my phone)

Yes they were counted as a message, not i receive a message after they have tried to be downloaded saying "Message not Downloaded - Generic Network Failure." This is really starting to aggravate me.

hm. yeah that's a pickle then.

i would commonly get that error when i was attempting to download an MMS while i was on WiFi, for some reason. and many other people were having the same error in the same circumstance of WiFi being enabled. (Sprint users).

that's what i've learned. if you're not getting downloads of MMS, turn off Wifi, send again.

don't know if that's the case with Verizon. hope not.

I had the same issue on my OG Droid. It would just try to download and nothing would happen, sometimes it would work but most of the times not. I could never send any pics either, it would just stay at the sending and never go through.

I do not have the problem at all on the TB, and my wife who has my OG Droid now does not have the problem either. I'm going to think that this is something with the VZW network, perhaps mine works now because it reset with the new phone? I would call VZW and see if they can help you with it.
