How do I stop my galazy ll phone from sending mms messages instead of sms ones. I know texts automatically go to mms ones when long but can I set my phone to send in 2 messages instead of one?
Thanks

This is a character limit set by your carrier. I know that sprint uses a 160 character limit for SMS (short message service). So you need to stop at that limit to avoid converting to MMS.

Alternatively you could use instant messaging.

what is instant messaging? Somewhere I read that by changing the creation mode to "restricted" that it would automatically send in 2 messages. It worked for that person but I tried that and it did not work.

You could try a different SMS client. Many 3rd party apps have an option in their settings to control whether long SMS are sent as MMS, though that won't let you get round a limit set by your network so you should do some tests to see how it behaves.

(Here in the UK concatenating up to 5 SMS is I think the norm, so much more flexible than the network Brian names. Since we don't know what carrier you use we can't know what their limit is).

My carrier is Bell and it is 160 I believe. With my other cheap phone I had, my messages automatically went in 2 messages and was called Page 1 and 2
