Help MMS not working

Whenever someone sends me a picture or something I get a button that says "download" and it lists the file size.

If I click it it says "downloading" but when it finishes the button just goes back to being a download button. Sometimes I'll get an error message up top that says "message not downloaded".

From what I'm gathering this phone should support MMS, I'm using Handscent and the CM7 rom.
 
Enable your 3G data and retrying downloading. MMS works and im using CM7-Reloaded as well.

If that doesn't do it, delete handcent and use the stock messaging app. Sometimes 3rd party messaging apps don't want to cooperate correctly.
 
3G data is enabled, and I've tried both the stock app and Handscent, same thing in both apps, it acts like it's downloading and then stops.

Is it possible that there's a MMS cache/temp folder that's full or something like that?

Someone had suggested using Astro to view the files, perhaps they're downloading to a folder somewhere and I just can't find them, but it'd be nice if the pics would show up in the text window like they're supposed to.
 
Try GO SMS Pro. I was having trouble with getting (and sending) MMS pictures, but once I downloaded GO SMS they worked perfectly.

Still never got an answer as to why a third party sms app was able to do MMS when the stock couldn't, but at least I got my pictures lol.
 
With Go SMS Pro I was able to view the messages, that's really strange. Stock app fails, Handscent fails, but Go SMS Pro wins.
 
Yeah it's quite odd. Never really figured out why it works, but I try to let everyone know who has MMS issues.
 
Every other week i get a text message from virgin mobile saying something like ...your picture messaging has been cancelled please go to (pic site) or call customer service to sign up.i gave up on getting back them and i have not got a text for around 2 weeks now... ever since i switched from sprint to virgin mobile (over a year now) i have always had trouble with my mms. I have had 3 phones through vm now and they all had the same problem. The other people i know with virgin mobile all have issues with there mms. I thought it had something to do with vm?

I had VM for like a year and a half. I started with the Rumor Touch, then the OV, then the MT. I never had any problems sending or receiving MMS on any of them except when using roms that didn't have MMS properly working. It's strange that some people have problems with it. I would get back to VM to see what they have to say. Granted sometime they would take a while to send since VM 3g is flaky and slow.
 
GO SMS fixes the mms issues.

not sure why, but that app can handle them better. its weird.


also, they ONLY download over 3G, regardless if you force 3G off and try to make everything use wifi. if 3G isnt on the FIRST time it tries to download, it will fail often on retries even when you turn 3G back on (except in GO SMS, where it works fine) weird.
 
I am having similar issue with my triumph. i guess its easiest to start at the beginning. my MMS has always worked up until last week. Last week i came into and issue that required me to change me number. I was running CM7 and quickly found out that i had to switch back to the stock rom to reactive with the new number. i booted up into recover just to find out my back up was corrupt so i downloaded a stock rom off here and installed it. i ran the activation and everything seemed to check out. Till i got a picture message and i couldnt download. I have tried everything from using 3rd party sms/mms apps such as go sms pro. i even reinstalled CM7 and tried CM9. i also read something about deleting the telephony.db file located in (/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases). when i go into the root folder and look in the 1st data folder it says its empty i dont know if that has something to do with it or not. if someone could please help i would greatly appreciate it i'm going crazy
