Help MMS sending duplicate messages

On O2 UK, APN settings look OK and I have good signal... but whenever I send a picture message it sits there sending for ages and recipients get multiple copies.

This is using Handcent SMS on the GalaxHero ROM, but I was getting the same issue on stock II5.

Anyone else had the same problem?
 
that sounds like you got a borked profile on the mmsc or you are sending to a network outside of o2

try putting sim in a standard phone and see if it does the same. if it does then contact o2 and tell em to fix it

if it doesnt then try the default mms app
 
Do you have "," in your name list
example
Lastname, Firstname

I have this same problem before I changed all my contacts to
"Firstname Lastname" -type
 
I'm getting the exact same problem, but i'm using the stock method of sending mms, I'm also on the standard o2 apn settings

edit: in my contact most are just their first names, but those that i have included surname there is no ,

edit 2: I'm on II4 uk csc
 
Yes the same thing was happening with the standard MMS app. None of my contacts have a comma in the names, and it was actually to another O2 user.

...while testing this last night though it worked fine and only sent the one message, so it's not happening all the time.
 
Up till now i had been using a unified apn, that is internet and mms all in one. I just sent a mms this morning and was told that it sent 4 times.
I have now set up a seperate one for internet and mms and have sent a test message.

Will report back if this has made any difference
 
Odly enough a friend of mine on O2 (iphone) sent me some MMS's which all arrived twice. An O2 problem maybe?
 
I've had this aswell. I'm on o2 too. It seemed to happen when i'm in an area with low signal so that migh have something to do with it?
