MMS 'sending' much later

I sent a couple photos to a friend about a week ago. I thought they went though, but last night while sending a photo to another contact, these two week old photos mysteriously sent themselves.

Last night I noticed that i didn't get a reply to a photo i sent to the same contact that had the error before. The message said 'sending', so I assumed it didn't go through. So I resent the picture this morning a couple of times before it finally went through (and I got a reply)...

...both on verizon, although I got a GNex (4.0.2) and the contact has an LG ally (2.2.2).

I figure it might be an issue with the image being 5MP large... I think they have to get compressed for MMS sending...

anyone else have this happen?

yes this is very common at the moment.

there are several threads related to it. When you originally tried sending the pic were you on Wifi and or in a low Cell coverage area? There are hand off issues between the radios. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.

I was on 4G each time it happened. But it might have been within a spotty coverage area. Glad to know im not the only one getting this... and it is a minor issue for me so far...

some times you can kick start the sending the process if it hangs up for a while by toggling airplane mode on and off.
