Root MMS sends slow on AOSP based ROMs?

Does anyone have a problem with MMS sending really slow on AOSP based ROMs? It works, but it can take up to an hour or so to send... also, does it send through WiFi on AOSP based ROMs?

(To clarify- AOSP based means Cyanogenmod, AOKP, MIUI JB)

I can't speak for the time since i am not using a AOSP rom. However, since mms is sent as a message through a cell network provider, I believe it has to go through the cell network, not through wifi.

Just speaking from the CM side I think the reason MMS is so slow is due to our Mms.apk. All developers have tried to figure out how to use Virgin Mobile servers correctly to send and receive MMS/SMS messages. So far from what I can tell is it's not correct. I only base this off the fact I have looked at like 100 some log cats from stock, harmonia, and cm. I have still been banging on the CM side to see if I can't improve it and fix Visual Voicemail on CM10.1 which is all tied into the Mms.apk. However I have not seen an hour or more for sends. You may want to try and update your radio. I have had a lot of success with the following

HBOOT- 1.50.5050
RADIO - 1.09.00.0706

I snagged the HBOOT from joe_blow and the radio from LeslieAnn.
