MMS Setup

ok... so the European version of the HTC Hero doesn't get 2.1 til June... that's the GSM Hero...When Sprint releases 2.1 they release it.. no big deal.. those that don't want to wait have already rooted and upgraded.. or at least they should :D

As has been said, I would root and be happy in a heartbeat...if I could. We Ntelos users can't root from our software and make a Nandroid backup like you Sprint guys.

I have nTelos with my hero . I am using 2.1 ( 2.0d fresh ) . I had no problem rooting doing the goldcard method . Works like a charm . :)

OK, so the bullet has been bitten. My friend, who has rooted his Droid and re-loads it with a new ROM, like, every 2 days, rooted and flashed my phone this weekend. I guess he was tired of hearing me fuss and moan about not having 2.1. I am running Bittersweet 1.0 and so far it seems nice. I did have a question for you nTelos guys, though. My current radio will only connect to EVDO rev.0 and not rev.A. Is there a radio I need to flash to, or is this normal and I will have to deal with it until some intrepid fellows root the offical nTelos 2.1 update?

Sorry. My email alerts went in the spambox for some reason. I am using radio version 2.42.01.04.27 from geekfor.me

I DID IT!!!! I have MMS working in both directions on my nTelos hero!!! All that is needed is to change the MMSC to without quotes http://mms.ntelospcs.net/?X-MDN=YOUR11DIGITCELL# by 11 digits i mean all of them. Example: 18880002222
I will post a script the minute i get it made. It will require the android SDK to run but in theroy should be quite easy. Just double click the script, put in your 11 digit# and bam! MMS on the hero!
I am going to post it in a new topic when i release it so it can be stickied easily

Excellent work, my friend! It's a shame I use Google Voice for all of my texting; but I'm sure there are many who will find your fix a godsend. Oh, and any ideas about the EVDO rev.0-rev.A thing?

Try *228 send. Ask rep for a prl update. If that doesn't work it just may be thetower. but I have rev a in elkview, wv

I have a rooted nTelos phone running Bittersweet 1.2 (used the goldcard method) and am also getting Rev. 0. It looks like we will have to wait for a radio update from what I can gather.

Check your PRL version. Is it still 12800? If it is and you still have Rev 0 try Fresh Roms as they are sprint based and technically sprint towers in nTelos areas are nTelos towers. If that doesn't work it's your area as I have rev A with fresh toast rom 2.1.2 with PRL Version 12800. If that's not your PRL version maybe I can find a way o dump my PRL for you.

No 12800, still 22800. I am running DamageControl 2.08.1, which is also Sprint based. So I dunno. Honestly, I never even checked to see if I got Rev.a before I flashed. So who knows?

My PRL seems to be 02802. What's up with that? Do I need to do something else? I've rooted my nTelos Hero but I can't get the MMS process to update the Telephony.dp (access denied).
