Help Mobile data issues

Hi,

I've been having mobile data issues for months now on EE (UK). It happens in multiple postcodes - infact almost everywhere in the country. I was convinced it was EE at first, but now I'm thinking it's either a phone or SIM issue.

EE have recommended I change SIM in store (will do this tomorrow, can't suffer it any longer), but is anyone else having similar issues with the M8?

The data drops for varied lengths of time, sometimes 30 seconds, sometimes 30 minutes. Happens everywhere - even at home where my connection has been flawless previously. If I'm not using the phone, I can tell it's happening because I'll get a whole stack of whatsapp / snapchat / facebook notifications at once.

I often have full bars and 3G / H when this occurs. Also, I started collecting screenshots to prove my case in store, using the app EE references when calling out their speeds. Sometimes upload works, download doesn't.

Here's some examples below - been collecting these for months thinking I'd go to the shop and couldn't be arsed.

P.S - Not in a 4G area, but when I head into Glasgow it seems fine

I hope it is your sim. That sure would be an easy fix for you. Good luck.

One thing to try would be to put your sim card in someone else's phone and see if you have the same issues.

It sounds very much like you could have a duff sim card, there are other factors for poor data signal but if you've not modified your phone and it happens in multiple places then I can't imagine it would be these so it's really only the sim left, or maybe a defect phone with a hardware issue.

I think I may have the same problem. Also on EE and over the last week or so I have not been getting all my emails on time, sometimes they can be an hour or more late. I have my email set to push on both my phone and Surface 2 and I see the mail coming in on my Surface but not on my M8

I started having the problem on my Oneplus One and thought it was down to it so I put my sim back into my M8 but I still have the problem.

EE have had a lot of problems with their network lately, my texts haven't been going through either but this all depends on how long your problems have been going on.

Google network detector and see how your area is affected.
