Mobile Data Scheduler

Since updating to Froyo, I notice that my phone seems to use trace amounts of mobile data constantly. Doesn't seem to make much difference to my data usage, but probably hurts the battery.

I don't want to turn this into a thread about Froyo however.

What I am asking instead, is if there is some sort of app out there which can turn mobile data on and off according to a schedule.

My ideal situation would then be the following, (as and example):

say I care about facebook and gmail, I would then set my facebook and gmail to sync once every 4 hours.

Using a mobile data scheduler app, I would set it so that my mobile data is turned off for 3hrs 58 mins, on for 2 mins, and then repeat.

Basically I only want my mobile data to turn on just for the time it takes to run a sync, and then turn off again. Is this possible?

Interesting concept. The app that immediately jumped out in my head is called "Tasker", it's only available if you pay (but it does have a 7 day trial) and im not sure how exactly you'd go about setting it up as I don't use it, only read about it.

Tried Juice Defender? That has a Schedule.
