Mobile Defense Experiment

So my roommate has a Moto Droid, and I have a TB. Both of us are on my Mobile Defense account.

I am on TB number THREE as of today, so I decided to run a little experiment,

I logged onto MD and connected to her phone- it showed EXACTLY the location of her phone, down to the correct side of our building.

Then I tried my TB. WHOOPS! The phone showed up as 1/2 mile away!

I'm getting mightily sick of the issues with this bloody phone. The new one has the OTA w/the GPS "fix" that in fact fixed NOTHING.

It has been known for a while that there is an issue with GPS even after the OTA so why did this shock you?

Not sure where you are getting the idea that I am expressing any shock/surprise with my post. Frustration, YES, but not surprise.

And the post was meant to be food for thought- not only does the GPS issue affect your navigation/directions, but it may affect your ability to recover the phone if you are running a program like MD.

Have I misunderstood something here? Have the rules changed? Are we not allowed to vent about the issues with this phone here anymore?

And I might add that not everyone had post-OTA issues with GPS.

Your post sounds like you expected the feature to work otherwise why would you have wasted your time?

I've got a fix for you. Don't lose your phone. 99% of the time when someone's phone is lost or stolen the owner could have done something to prevent the theft or loss.

Wow, you're SUPER helpful!

I have MD for the same reason I have insurance- sh*t happens. Do you not have insurance on your car or home? Same idea, buddy.

Also- YES- I would like GPS to work. Why shouldn't I? If you don't like what you read, don't be a jerk, just move along.

So explain to me again why Aillen is not allowed to post her thoughts? Last time I checked this was a friendly forum and we were allowed to post our thoughts and ideas without fear of being cut down...

Kinda rude statement you made....and I beg to differ.

In most people's busy life, it is easy to misplace your phone. I came to the thunderbolt from an inspire at at&t and I used the locate device feature often when I misplaced my phone. I also used the feature when my phone slipped out of my pocket and within 5 minutes was stolen.

Regardless of why a phone gets lost or stolen, the feature should work and people have a right to be frustrated if it does not.
