Mobile Defense!

Exactly, I think that 'staying connected' is why some users are noticing their batteries running out of juice sooner than usual. As Juneau said, only connect to your device when you want to track it....."or when you are testing it". I'm well past the testing it phase; I played with it for an hour when I first got it. Just too awesome a software product.

Hey thanks everyone! I figured that out as I noticed the GPS continuously running when connected. I disconnected after I tested until I'm ready to use it.

The tip on setting up the lock pattern and turning it "on first", and then unlocking through the web site was PRICELESS!! thanks again.

That's probably it. I have Premium SMS blocked on my acct. That's why it's not coming through I bet.
My premium TXT is also blocked and I had no problems setting up.
I seem to remember that Mobile Defense sent me an email, not a text message, to activate the account.

The texts are for when you try and locate the phone.
+1 what he said.

You may have a SPAM TXT block.... This program sends a text message from an email address. Check your "My Verizon" site or call customer care to confirm you CAN receive txt msgs from email address. (verizon customers began to fall victim to SPAM txt msgs about a year ago, and VZW offered a solution by blocking all txt msgs sent from email addresses) This is the only thing that would make sense.

really accurate location, much better than wave secure. Does anyone know either a place to dl the apk file or a way to extract the apk so I can install it without having an uninstall option in the market....market uninstall kinda makes the app useless...since if your phone was stolen they could just go into the market and delete any security apps you have before you can activate them.

Could try Astro file manager. It allows you to backup your installed apps and also install apps.

Not sure you will know about updates to the app if you do this though.

Can you please tell me how to blacklist a contact using hand cent?
Thanks!

long press it, blacklist.

Remember long press is like right click....if it is a function for an individual that is all you have to do.

The latest update says you can install it as a system app to make it uninstallable. How does one do that? My phone is rooted with busybox. Do I just move the APK to the system app directory? Or is there a system app install app or something?

I use LOOKOUT and it does the samething plus I use Where's my Droid. The WMD is to remotely turn on gps and/or take it out of silent mode. Lookout then can track and alarm my phone. You get close to your phone (GPS ONLY gets you so close) and then activate the alarm. Both are free.
