So I'm testing the Thunderbolt on a new line of service to see if it's going to replace my Fascinate, a phone that I dearly love, quite frankly. If successful, I could in theory replace both my Fascinate and my Pantech USB lines. I've run into an issue.
I have a grand total of three wireless SSIDs in my home. Each serves a given purpose, all three use a purposeful nomenclature, that reads like this (A = alphanumeric, 9 = numeric):
AAAAAA.A9A9.AA
Those are an Airport Extreme running dual band and a Time Capsule. This works perfectly.
I want the Thunderbolt to follow this nomenclature, so it's easily identified when joining to it. However (and I know it's Android, not Thunderbolt, but I didn't have this issue on my Fascinate for some reason) when I go to enable it, it says Warning Please enter a valid SSID. I assume it's the dots that it doesn't like. But my question is why? Periods are valid in a wireless SSID. Any clues?
