Mobile internet data Bundle

Hey guys, I have HTC Desire with no internet data bundle, but I'm thinking about getting one. I'm not sure which one i'll need.
I will just use it for occasional web surfing, mostly not watching videos, updating friends stream and RSS feed, rarely navigation or latitude. no downloads or uploads. maybe facebook when i'm really bored. Basically, i just need to have internet if i need it.
So which data bundle do u think I should get??
5MB
50MB
200MB
2000MB
that's per month, i think the 50 MB is ok, what do you think??
So far i was only using my phone over WiFi, and the phone doesn't show how much KbBs were used, even when i used mobile network it didn't show, so I have no idea how much KBs i ususllay use. Is there anyway to know exactly how much of my MB i used ??

there are apps that will monitor your data usage. 3gWatchdog is one that comes to mind.

Personally, I go though 50MB of data in a few hours, and that's just an hour or so or browsing/youtube/facebook/maps.

It's always better to have more than you need.

second for 3G watchdog too, you can set it with your limit and will warn you when you get near it.

Ive got unlimited (500MB fair use policy, whatever that means!) and I use between 60 and 90% of it, depending on how much time I spend using wi-fi instead of 3G.

Dont use weather updates, only sync gmail etc when I want to check my emails, most of the use is for pulse newsreader when Im away from home / somewhere without wifi.

edit* in short, get more than you think you'll use because you will prob use more than you think!

Not sure where you are or what your current network is, but I'm assuming that having a Desire with no internet access you are not buying it on a contract at

I'm on Orange and i have 'Unlimited' internet. Its actually 1GB and i normally use about 650mb a month.. but bare in mind I do not have wi-fi to connect to... so i am ALWAYS using 3G. However orange's fair usage policy for new people who are getting that plan is now 500mb which is of course half. Personally if i didnt have a data plan i would go with Three because their 3G speed and reliability is the best out of all the networks and you get a nice 1GB of internet :D

I'm on T-mobile with unlimited data (thanks T-mobile :) ) with a 500MB fair use I think.
Although browsing and email is unlimited apparently.
3G watchdog shows I have used 135MB since March 1st.
Most of the time my phone is connected to wifi but when I go out I don't bother disabling data sync and I use it a little bit on 3G including navigate etc.
I'd have to say I shouldn't be getting anywhere near the 500MB fair use limit in a normal month.

I've got 500meg and that's fine for me. My data plan runs from the first day of the month to the last and I've used 277meg so far. I've got WiFi at home, at my moms and at the in-laws but out at work Mon to Fri is all 3G.

I've got my email to update every 5 mins the weather every hour and the news every hour too.
