My mobile data has started connecting its self automatically, even with it switched off in the settings and showing switch off on the widget.

Anyone any ideas how to switch it off?

change the settings and uncheck "auto sync" and "background sync". settings > account & sync

Both unchecked and still does the same thing

and also unchecked "mobile network" under settings > wireless & networks, and unchecked "enable always-on mobile data" under settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks. try a reboot in case you havent. have you installed any weird apps from market?
