Help Mobile network on/off

Hello there... Just a quick question for anyone interested: Earlier today, I was running low on battery. I decided to toggle Internet access (mobile network) in order to save battery. However, I'm quite reliant on Google Voice. Throughout the day, I turned the mobile network back on briefly to receive messages. Is this constant on/off bad for the 1x/EV radio?

I started doing this recently and it did help the battery. Also I found even with the Mobile Network Off, apps and things that needed 3G were allowed quick access then it turned back off. So that being said unless you need dedicated 3G conx, for browsing and stuff then you may want to keep this setting off.

I don't think it hurts it at all. I used to do this with my Eris...about 20 times a day to save battery power . With the Inc I just leave it on all day and don't bother since I get a day and a half of lithium juice. It does save battery turning it off indeed

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info! I'm surprised you get a day and a half on one charge though.... I get about 5/6 of a day. I have a lot of notification stuff running though, that could be it.

I didn't mention that I have the 1750mah SEIDIO battery and since owning the Eris 1st (which had some of the worst battery life ever in the history of all phones in the universe ) I've learned how to somewhat power manage my phone without taking all the fun out of it! Android can play nice to your battery once you learn it well If you've got Twitter, Flicker, Gmail, hotmail, weather, facebook, contacts etc.... syncing all the time then yea you'll get less life

Yeah I've got Gmail, Exchange, Twitter, Weather, and Google Voice all going... I'm still getting accustomed to Android too, so I could be able to crank the battery life out more as time goes on

I keep mine off at work when I am not using the phone and I have an average battery life of 16 to 18 hours.

I recently upgraded my HTC Desire to the latest version. Since then the mobile network is not working and can't use GPRS on my phone. Can someone help
