Help Mobile Networks

My mobile network was working fine, but suddenly it disconnected and now I am unable to access my emails when on the go. I keep getting the message "use phone for data connection when Wi-Fi is unavailable" how do I get my connection back?

Is "packet data" checkmarked in settings?
And run "choose preferred network".
Or reboot phone.
