mobile not connecting to laptop

hi all ,
when i connect my mobile to my laptop using the USB cable it automatically goes to charging mode and does not give me an option to connect my SD card with the laptop to transfer er songs any idea why this is happening , any settings to be changed. pls help .

Hey guys...try installing kies latest version in pc and check it out..if still problem persist try factory reset...

same here . sometimes it connect to pc , but mostly not connected. but my kies is updated .

Ya, it takes some time to connect to kies via usb....

Charging mode is the default setting. If you need to copy the files, you need to change it to Mass Storage mode where you can copy files beween your PC and mobile. As soon as you connect the USB cable, there will be a notification in the Notification area where it says "Select to copy files to PC". Once you select it, there will a button displayed with the name "Connect to PC". Click on it and wait for few seconds...thats it it will be changes to Mass Storage mode and then you can copy the files between PC to Mobile and vice versa.
