What does Mobile phone networks h e g 3g mean?
I know H is HSP whatever and 3G is normal 3g. E and G i dont know what it is

I couldn't get a signal one time and saw a R in the signal box.
Don't know about E is short for what interesting.

I think it's something like this but I'm not 100% sure

R= (Verizon/Sprint) 1xRTT (basically 1G speeds)

E= Edge (AT&T, TMobile, basically 1-2G speeds)

G (alone) = usually UTMS (AT&T, TMobile, basically 1-2.5G speeds)

3G (Verizon /Sprint = EVDO Rev A, AT&T/TMO = GSM/HSPA)

4G HSPA+ or LTE

I think R is roaming? Not certain.

You can also get an H on networks which offer HSPA (not HSPA+).

And, in the UK at least, E(dge) is faster than G(PRS?).

In general the speed order is G, E, 3G, H, 4G. But not all networks offer all of these.
