Android Expert
Hey guys here's a mod/theme for those using AOKP ICS and like the stock theme but find the blue overwhelming and would like something a bit cleaner.

Thanks to Phenom for the rom, the AOKP team for a forking great kang, to Achep, Manup and all the devs and themers.

What's been done?
1. Weather panel text all white with the exception of current conditions.
2. Date text white.
3. AOKP JB images for menu and clear in the notification drop down.
4. All GB artifacts gone and themed to a uniformed ICS to include thin seek bars, download progress for depreciated apps, menus, buttons and text on standard buttons changed to white to match the stock theme and support depreciated apps.
5. Replaced existing round battery mod with AOKP JB version.
6. Adjusted compression rate and optimized images to reduce apk sizes by half.

So I was looking around for something else to do to the stock SystemUI and was considering the glowing footer for the notification drop down...but I came across something else from the Nexus 4 forums and with some tweeking I came up with this...it isn't a glowing footer but a subtle animation using a xml edit, a whole new xml and 39 images. Anyway here's a test systemui for you guys to play with. This is not a zip so you need to know how to use adb, terminal or a file explorer to replace your systemui. Don't forget to set permissions to rw--r--r--....

If you guys like it I'll put it in the next update.

I am having trouble getting this to work. I followed the instructions using CWM. I rebooted to recovery. Mounted system. Cleared Cache/Dalvik flashed the zip. It appeared to complete the install normally. I rebooted.

I don't have the unicorn anymore and now have the google dot animation but my text is still blue. (edited: I thought the phone dialer didn't change but I see you changed it compared to earlier builds)

I haven't flashed one of these before so I am not sure if it is just supposed to change everything automatically or not. I did check my themes to see if there was a new theme to select but there was not. I even tried to redownload it and reflash it to make sure it wasn't just a bad flash... no change.

I am not really sure what I am doing wrong here. It seems like a pretty simple process and I followed your instructions. Any ideas?

I am on the 9/29 version of aokp if it matters.

Thanks

Youre good to go my friend. There's no theme in the Theme Chooser. This is hard coded but theme friendly.

Thanks for the quick reply. The text color resolved itself with another reboot. I'll report back if I encounter any bugs.

You should notice a significant performance boost in audio/media and memory management. The point of the theming in this mod is so you don't need to use a Theme Chooser theme that can use ram and resources and be buggy.
