Root [MOD] Bootanimations

kind of the same topic, but does anyone know where the splash image is? It wouldnt be this logo.bmp in the home directory would it? And if so, could I just swap it out for any bmp thats at 480x800?

The splash image is the 17th partition:
Code:
/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
-or- (if I remember correctly)
/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/splash

Awesome! Sounds like a place that I'm not skilled enough to mess around with yet though. I kept reading threads about it, and some other phones I believe have it in the same partition. I also saw many threads where people bricked their phone trying to mess with it.

Can we get more input on this? Because I have wondered about changing it myself. Is it safe to do? Should it not be messed with all?

As long as you don't touch the other partitions, your golden. As an example, the warp4g I'm using (similar to the awe, partitions, etc.) was borked bad when i got it off ebay. had to write the partitions in download mode by hand, and forgot to do the splash partition. the original warp had the boot image in partition 17, so that's what i've got there, and it's interesting when it boots up. mostly black, but with some color static in the top lol. My point is it doesn't matter what you put there, as I don't even have an image there, but a boot.img!
