Root [MOD] Dark Gray Status Bar..

Sorry...this should be titled as a request, more than a mod.

Hi a.ll. I was wondering if anyone who is savy at doing this stuff, could help me out. I love the dark gray status bar (who was originally created by teenfaces...if I'm correct) better than the black status bar that we find on just about all of the roms. But that latest revision for Froyo found over on xda-developers, which I think is revision 4, doesn't have the prettiest icons. The thread asked the developer if he/she could update it with new icons, but needless to say, I don't think the dev. is focused on that project anymore since it's been Oct. when it was last updated. So I was wondering if anyone could mod it with new icons....or walk me through how to do it. I would like to stick with revision 4 since it has a real nice notification pull down background. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would add a link to the thread, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed, so I can point you in that direction if you can't find it.

I'm not sure how to change the status bar, but I do know that the background on the pulldown notification screen is really easy to change, so don't feel like you have to stay with your current rom just because of that. haha

the easiest way is to have a functioning theme or zip file for your current ROM (even if it's stock) and to go into the framework-res.apk file, then under the drawable-hdpi folder you change the icons to what you want. essentially download the icons you want from the other theme and ONLY copy over the icons you want (don't change anything but the images). if you give me specifics (what ROM, what icons, what status bar, etc.) you want I can do it for you.

No..I'm fine with my rom. (Running Apex 1.3 with Nextheme) I just have my setup with the Sense look, but for some reason, I'm attracted to the dark gray status bar more than the black. If I could get the Nextheme notification icons or the Htc Evo like icons with the dark gray status bar, then that would be the perfect look i'm aiming for. Did this using Root Explorer and 7zip and it worked like a charm. Added everything I wanted to the status bar. Thanks everyone for the replies and help.

Figured I'll post some pics. Anyone know what I need to do to change the black text to white in the drop down menu?
