THIS IS NOT A DATA UPGRADE!!

1. What does this do?
This is a modification to the services.jar framework file, that allows you to have an un-throttled internet.
2. Will this make my internet faster?
Yes and No. This will not "Upgrade" your internet. This only takes the trottle off, so you can download, or play games and not have to worry about it hitting a certain peak and lagging from that point on. It doesn't provide you with a new internet, only a warm fuzzy feeling from knowing you don't have to worry about it capping off.


This was brought to my attention by another member on this forum in my "4g Throttled??!!" freak out thread lol. [MOD] Data Service Governer Killer - Updated with How To: - xda-developers

so i made the mod! I dont really have that awesome of mobile data where i live anyways and im only one person so please post your thoughts and results here if you would :)

I pulled the services.jar from monster v5.2 but it should work on any STOCKbased rom.
*NOTE
if you are running a rom or theme that already has some services.jar mods then this mod will wipe out those other mods. I would suggest using the linked thread to mod your services.jar yourself :) or i can do it for you no prob :)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-Copy Zip file to sd card
-Boot to recovery
-Make Backup
-Flash Theme
-Reboot

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WIPE DALVIK AND CACHE IF YOU DONT WANT TO!! I HAVE IT SET IN THE UPDATER SCRIPT TO AUTOMATICALLY WIPE IT FOR YOU :)

AFTER FLASHING THIS IT WILL TAKE A LOOOONNNNGGG TIME TO BOOT BACK UP SO DONT FREAK OUT LOL.

OK reflashed and now it seems to make my data even more constant. I dont know why it didnt work last time, lol. Got some awesome dl speeds /up speeds. Thanks!!!!
 
here in philly ;

it hits the 126 d/l cap on speed test quicker and is consistant with not as much data speed
fluctuation. its obvious after the second test it is better.

i think i'm gonna try this on admirial beast with ravers ROM what do you guys think?

This will not work on all roms. I have an extened power menu on 5.2

Does the extended power menu have anything to do with the services.jar? Not trying to bust your chops here just trying to understand. Every ROM I made this mod on had an extended power menu on it for the Esteem. I can make one for ROM separately either way.

Hey my flash was fast and so was my reboot does that mean it didn't work? My speeds seem a little faster but I've flashed 3 times and it goes fast. You said its kind of a long wait.

Ohhh! Haha yeah my update script! Lol yeah I don't know what it looks like on the admire...is it jumbled or anything? I'm used to making them for the esteem with a bigger screen lol.

Only way I can describe it is like trying to watch fast scrolling credits at the end of a movie when you're tired as hell.

No that doesn't mean it didn't work lol. It's just a longer boot than usual by a little bit when you flash over a new .jar file. I just pointed it out because sometimes peeps freak put and do battery pulls and shit lol. Not good. But no if it went through the script and booted back up fine then it worked ;)

Haha that's hard to visualize. But either way it's not what's showing on the screen that matters cuz there are alot of other things going on in the background ;) and those seem to be going fine :D
