Just DL'ed the file and I have to say that mine is fine. I am on .320 running APEX with REVOlution.

I keep getting a force close when I apply this keyboard:

"The applications Multi-touch Keyboard (processcom.android.inputmethod.latin) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"

I have changed the language in the Multi-touch Keyboard setting to English but still get this forced close.

Any idea's how to fix it?

Same situation here. I have followed the instructions to a T and am still dealing with constant FCs.

Are you running a theme or other custom ROM? I had that problem, but it was because I had reverted back to Stock - rooted without being deodexed (I know, it's Monday for me). Applied a theme and bam, it works like a charm.

Snap.... 2.3.15 OTA rooted, non deodexed. I guess I'll wait to install this for a while then. is it possible to odex it?

Well, my Galaxy Tab is odexed, but I didn't have an issue installing on there.

Try renaming the LatinIME.odex, then flashing the .zip

Installation not successful, it still says i have the multi-touch keyboard but now i can't use the multi-touch keyboard because it gets constant fc's.

EDIT: Went into root explorer and just deleted everything that had LATINIME in its name and now it works but its tiny.

How do you have an enter key and not a smiley??

Just SBF'd to 2.2.1 this afternoon, fresh install of ApeX 1.2.1, the keyboard installed easily and works great. Thanks.

does anyone else think that after doing the 300/260/240 trick it still looks/feels smaller? I opened it at 260 and it looked like the normal size keyboard im used to.. if only there was a way to keep it there and set everything else back to 240 rofl... oh well, this atleast gives me a little gingerbread for the time being

The appearance of it being a "little smaller" is because it is, in fact, a little smaller. Look at the screenshots and check out the key sizes in relation to the window shade. It is a smaller keyboard, without a doubt.

Also, the DX has 54 additional lines relative to the Nexus S, which is why it looks even shorter on our screens.

is this for every versions? or I have to update to the 2.3.30?
I am still at 2.3.15, and I am using ApeX 1.2.1 ROM with revolution theme.

If I do, I can just install zip file from recover mode right?

Thanks you guys, and thanks Fabo for the keyboard :)

I love the keyboard!! I have messed with the lcd density and have found I looks best @@ 260. I prefer the default density and have gotten used to it. It isn't that much smaller than the original keyboard.

Thanks for the post fab. I love your work.

I have to do the density fix every time reboot. Is there anyway to fix that?
And mattstud36. this is what I did.
I put file in sd card
use biography to go the recovery mode.
and click install zip file.
choose the keyboard file
then install it.
reboot and the keyboard changed.

thanks for the keyboard man! works great on my phone. running fresh 3.4 built of software version 3.30.651.2. it totally fits correctly. I have been using the stock froyo keyboard for some time now and this is almost the same. froyo keyboard was removed by this on my phone.

I can tell its not a final version. It fits and works fine, but the color doesn't match the text window and the highlighted word is barely visible to me (by color and boldness not size).

if you guys are having trouble with this keyboard might just want to wait for a later release.

are all the guys that have the size issue coming from the MT?

***oops just realized this the droid x forum, I got linked over from the Evo forum. its working great on the evo tho ;)

Its been a couple days since I've been using this keyboard. I love it!! It actuallly looks cleaner when its shorter. Idk. Hopefully we get a way to survive reboot. Thanks again fab
