Root [MOD] LOTS of Build.prop edits!

Quick question. When we download the build.porps from the ROM Manager, do we need anything else installed with the 2.2 OTA update? My phone is already rooted but am not 100% sure how ROM Manager works.

You need Koush's bootstrap and Rom Manager. Thats all. Once you downloaded and ROM Pre-Installation window pops up, just click OK and enjoy :)

Do you have to have the bootstrapper for the build.prop files?

Not necessary. It is needed if you want to apply the new build.prop using ROM Manager.

An alternative, which I have used, is to download the new build.prop and use RootExplorer to copy the file into your system and replace the original.

Is there any way to make the vibrate pulses last longer or pulse harder? The vibrate on this phone sure is weak. I haven't caught a single call yet when in vibrate mode and walking around.

Also is there anyway to make the Bluetooth sync up faster? Sometimes it takes several minutes when I'm in my car. My BB Storm was definitely much better in these areas. (And thats probably the only time I will ever say the storm was better). However these problems are driving me nuts!
With the storm the BT would sync up the moment I turned it on. With the Android it can take a few minutes to even begin connecting...

Also, I see several build.properties in the rom manager, but I'm not sure which one to choose. If I have the leaked 2.3.15 do I want the 2.2 OTA build.properties? There isnt one that has both the market fix and the LCD mod?

Question, when flashing between roms/themes does the build.prop edit stick, or does it get flashed over? I wasn't sure, so after I did the update to Gala X 1.6.0 I downloaded and installed the build.prop edit again, but it seemed like it didn't do anything?

is there any1 of retuning back to te old buiild prop? download link anywhere? and how would we edit the current build prop you have?

Where do you put the bootstrap APK?

Also I think I just did something wrong, I used the rom manager to install build props

now it always reboots into clockwork recovery

>>You first have to be rooted, then with root explorer go to system, then build.props and it would be in that list.<<

I guess I might have to consider doing the "ROOT" deal.

I ended up restoring back, and all is well. DX ran horribly after using the rom manager to grab the build.prop. and it didn't want to load from reboot. kept having to reboot recovery every time it booted even from a battery pull.

Restore to previous nandroid and all was normal again including re-boots. Still don't know what I did wrong but it was not happy.

Will try again, but I think I will manually build.prop update next time.
