Help Moment 2.1 Update Thread

Been using it since about noon. No issues yet with signal. The touch acts wacky on the. Home screens and a little choppy. Can't really say on battery life. The camera is much bbetter though and all my wifi and bluetooth is working awesome. I am missing docs to go full key from the market. Will have to email on that and hope jvrobert gets moment flash on par with 2.1 only thing I am really missing at this point
 
Just wanted to throw this out there as I am not a moment owner, but a hero owner!
Heard a lot of talk of apps missing, don't forget that a lot of apps are not compatible with 2.1 just like a lot of apps don't work on 1.5!

No private apps will be available. This leak blocks them from being seen because its primary use is beta testing. I ran 2.1 for about 5 hours and Im happy to be back on 1.5. I cant wait for the finished version but this leak definitely isnt it.
 
i been running it for awhile now and the market takes forever for me on 3g and even wifi. Iv noticed it seems a bit more slugish than 1.5 and when i started the install i lost 30% battery which seemed odd. Its been on the charger for an hour and half and its only up 30% from where it was, plus it is really hot. I pulled it off the charger for now to see how battery does the rest of the night.
 
First you gotta root the 2.1 then there was commands you had to enter but looks like they just made a zip so it auto does it throug hrecovery still havent got to it yet.

Ah so it seems this version was signed with test keys just like the sprint leaked 2.1! No preotected app would show in the market until a Dev was able to figure out the problem and even still there are a few apps that don't show up!
Sometimes I get the feeling that were all just a bunch of guinea pigs for sprint!
 
I just put on charger my phones been unplugged since 7 am lol its 8 now, so I did get the live wallpapers running, as far as sucking battery no idea yet idk if anyone does since everyone is just putting on now :) now to get the n1 launcher on there for the 3d drawer.

But yes if you got to sdx they have 2.1 with joeys recovery kernal so quick big bang boom for the root update but people stillbuggy with it there's been 3 ver released so far for root and diff ones are working for diff phones so no idea about that.
 
did the live wallpapers install works like a charm. pretty neat stuff guess we'll see how it does on the battery. nice link to the guide worked like a charm
 
If your rooted first do a backup thru the recovery console before flashing 2.1. If you wanna go back to 1.5 reflash the cl14 update, then flash the rooted kernel you were running, then restore the backup you created.
 
Love the new features BUT I'm now loosing my data connection periodically and only a reboot will get it back. I never experienced this with 1.5, though I did have the airplane mode problem. If this is the way it will be with 2.1 and I'm forced to choose between 2.1 with periodic data connection loss (cdma lockup?) or 1.5 with airplane mode and less features, I'm done with this phone and Samsung. I said that Samsung needed a good and early 2.1. The early is fine, but this isn't good!

Addendum; I shouldn't post when tired and cranky like I was last night. I should also check that data roaming is turned on before making claims of data issues...DOH! I will seek out a 10 step program for my issues (but not go beyond step 1). 2.1 rocks, carry on!
 
I got a feeling this is far from the final version. Id be willing to bet sprints not even fully prepared for 2.1 to be running on theyre network, Id agree though, if this is how its gonna be my phone will go up on craigslist and Ill be going to something else. Im still hopeful though.
 
My only problem is that I dont have any internet. Is it possible to download it and it straight from myphone? Or can I download it on my phone & transfer it to my laptop and root from there?
