Help moment and android newbie

hey im new to all this stuff and have a few questions...
first, how do i make my phone so it makes no noises at all and only vibrates?(for in class)
Also, how do i go about paying for apps in the marketplace?
and, what is the best free task manger/killer and the best free web browser?


P.S. if there are any other programs i should get for the best experience please let me know.

1. Only vibrate. Lower down the volume(Left side of the phone) until it vibrates and that's it.
2. You need to place your CC info with Google or sometimes you will be redirected to the app maker's site.
3. TasKiller is pretty good.

Open up your messaging app, hit the menu button, then settings, and scroll down to notifications settings

I found out if you press and hold the power button, it gives you an option to put the phone on silent, or shut it down. Very cool.
