More battery life, great. No sync? Not so.

With all the suggestions for disabling mobile data, wifi etc. its all good and i've managed to squeeze 2 full days, of barely using it. Furthermore, my whatsapp cant sync and so i dont even recieve messages, chances are i reply about 2 or 3 hours late by then the message would be irrelevant.

With data on all the time it doesn't even last through a school day with actual usage (7:30 to 3:30). Dilemma needs solving l0l.

Having the same issue here. I de-select sync overnight to save on battery, but sometimes during the day when travelling I want to extend battery life as well.

When sync is not selected I still get emails, but whatapp becomes very slow. But because i'm not entirely sure what sync is actually doing, I just leave it and live with crappy battery life (8-12 hours), just in case I am missing other stuff the phone needs to do.

So when sync is selected, what exactly is it doing, since I still get emails when it's not switched on? Really confused by it! Google isn't much help either.
