More EVO V stuff

Son of a ****! After I leave Virgin Mobile because of the poor phone selections they have, NOW they bring a quality phone to the roster!:mad::mad::rolleyes::congrats: :dontknow: :hello2:

Or am I misunderstanding, and VM is NOT having HTC Evo as a choice phone in their repertoire??

I'm wondering if there will be a two week pre-order for this phone. I'm anticipating it.
I let my current Virgin Mobile phone turn off because the due date is only a week before when this phone is due to be released. They will make me pay a new month of service when I upgrade because I'm still on the $40 plan.

So I'm just going to wait until I have this phone in hand then do everything at once. =]

Do you have good WiMax coverage where you live?

I would have to wait 11 days without a phone  ...or half a month to activate it :banghead:

I keep hearing no preorder but its touch and go right now.

I thought about it and likely there will be no preorder.
Especially not since they are trying to push the Elite.

If there is, it'll likely be from Best Buy or another third party company.

It is going to be a hassle explaining these changes to customers.
I always get the ones who'll want the phone right away.
Then they'll ask me why is VM doing it this way, They think it sucks, They just paid their bill, etc.

What a pain.

I'm not sure that they're going to push the Elite more than the Evo. The Evo is a far superior phone. I'm guessing late next week, the marketing push will really start.

What I'm saying is, They want to give the Elite at least a little time.
They won't want to release it only to release another better phone right after.
That would make no marketing sense.
I think we're likely to get maybe a week of preorder, If that.

Since this 4G is new, I wouldn't be surprised if they kept it under until the actual release date.

I'd almost take a Optimus Elite, just because it looks like a decent phone all around. HOWEVER, I've waited this long for a phone to actually be VM's First "true" flagship phone. Their first (and in my mind, long forgotten) attempt was... yeah. I'll leave that for the judges.

So while I feel bad for you, I stuck around. AND NOW I REAP THE BENEFIT! :P (Thank you Best Buy Protection Plan, now I basically get a upgrade for free!)

How did you manage that?

How do I? I've held on to my phone that won't charge. Luckily it only happened a few days ago... never the less. The way this BBPPP works (at least for prepaid phones) is that I get a credit for the $300 bucks to replace the device with a different one, which at that point, the Protection Plan has been fulfilled. Otherwise I can go swap out my phone for a newer Triumph and continue to keep my PPP.

i dont believe the evo is competition for the elite. i think the elite is marketed pretty directly at the consumers looking for a budget phone, not the best phone. the elite is there to replace the dated optimus v, and the evo is there to replace the triumph. every company wants a spread of phones for every price range. and if evo sales cut into elite sales, i doubt virgin would cry too much about an extra 150 bucks in their pocket.

I'm pretty sure they might have it for pre order a week before its release it can be this up and coming Monday saying this it takes up to 3-5 business days to come from it official release date which will be the month of June also the lg optimus elite is currently out of stock on the virgin mobile site so a lot of people that don't know about virgin mobile 4g phone are gonna be with there mouths open about why they got the elite......

That or they want to keep their $25 plans and still have a new phone

They sure did throw in quite a few perks for the Elite and new customers. Shame it came so close to this 4G launching.

I'm already getting customers that are inquiring about the Evo V though. It seems that word spreads fast. Everyone wants to preorder the Evo 4G for Boost and the Evo V for Virgin.
I've had no one inquire about the Elite at all honestly....

Good point and another good reason we're not likely to see this phone before the launch date. VM in their infinite asinine wisdom has a new policy whereby any phones introduced after May 1 and activated after May 26 will lose their grandfathered plans. VM definitely doesn't want to see this phone on a $25 a month plan. It is available for preorder with May 31 shipping from RadioShack.
