Help "More Message" button on email?

Seems like ever since the update, I no longer can just click an email and open it. I have to click an email, open it (no text shown) then hit the "more message" button in the lower-right corner. Then it says "loading" and pulls in the text of the message.

What gives? Why the extra step?
