I am now using mikg2.5 amd golden monkey.
All seems to be fine and ive done a nandroid before every change.

1 does the nandroid also back up the current kernel im using and if i restore back to my original gingerbread rom will the kernel also be replaced.

2 if i decide to install set cpu will the nandroid also back up all the settings and the app.

3 is this right for batt calibration Plug in after flashing wait for full charge turn off phone turn back on . then check usage and time up should be the same.

Yes the nandroid will restore the kernel you had when you created it.

If you create a nandroid after you install SetCPU then that nandroid will restore setcou if you revert back to that nandroid.

To calibrate the battery, download the app from the market, plug in your phone and charge to 100%, use the app to calibrate, unplug the phone.
To check usage or for partial wake lock, turn off the phone then turn back on and let it sit for an hour or so. If after that time the uptime and awake time match then something is keeping your phone from sleeping. They should not be the same.
