Depends on you consider the best. Some of the specs are better than phones that are out and others aren't. If you spend your life never wanting to get a peice of technology that will be be overshadowed by something coming out in the near future you will always be waiting.

That's because the hype started so long ago and the phone has been delayed so many times (and even rumored to have been canceled at least once). When the specs were released they were jaw dropping--it was the first announced dual core LTE phone from what I recall. But the delays have allowed everyone else to catch up--at least on the announcement front. There are still no dual core LTE phones actually available, obviously, and AT&T and Sprint are so far behind network wise their offerings are irrelevant when it comes to cutting edge tech. I think the bionic's biggest problem is marketing--they announced too early and got stung by development setbacks.

Yeah, the thing that is making me want to stray away from HTC is my TB's build quality. I love the phone from a function standpoint, but the creaking battery door, the light leakage and peeling kick stand have just soured me a bit. I haven't complained about those things on the forums because it just seems to go along with owning one of these, but it is why I may look outside of HTC for my next phone. I just don't understand why the build quality on 600 dollar phones doesn't meet or exceed the iphones. But I do recognize that probably no android phone will..., for whatever reason.
If I am not mistaken there have been build quality issues with most of HTC's recent phones, I don't know if that will change

iPhone's are built in quantities an order of magnitude larger than any other phone on the market (except for maybe BB curve variants, but they are variants), so they can invest more in quality control. Quality is not some kind of black magic--it is a consequence of conscious decisions and pretty much just costs money or performance to achieve. Apple can invest more in quality because they can spread the cost over more handsets. Keep in mind, too, that Apple sets much lower performance targets than Android phones. They typically use "last generation" hardware with maybe the exception of screen tech. Everything else is way behind, which helps on the quality front because the bugs are worked out. Again, conscious decisions, not black magic.

Quality control doesn't come from more mass production of a product it comes from what sweatshop the manufacturer has actually assembled the product and the quality of materials they use for the details of the product. Just imagine HTC could have paid for a casing that was slightly more rigid, a little thicker plastic for the bottom plastic where light leaks and better glue for assembly and most the quality issues would be solved. On top of that if they chose to use a shop who paid the laborers a few cents more weekly for assembly then there wouldn't be quality issues but the way the entire system is set up is the contracts go to the lowest bidders and as the old saying goes stout get what you pay for

Like I said, quality = money, pretty much directly. The iPhone costs about the same as a Thunderbolt to buy outright despite the inferior specs...some of that cost difference went to build quality.

But is Vigor going have the same lack of support, build quality, battery sucking features as TB? What is HTC doing to address these issues to warrant buying Vigor? Perhaps TB is an anomaly.

That's what I did. I was considering the charge but it seemed pretty laggy. Plus coming from a sense phone previously, I wouldn't have to get used to a new UI. Though I did really like the amolet. My friend also did the same but he timed it better than i did and traded before his 14 days for the droid 3. i hate him for having such a better phone yet at the same time im happy to have 4g while he dont. 3g is ridiculously slow compared to tmobile
