Root Most stable ROM?

My wife its not exactly a power user, but her Droid has been fc'ing, rebooting, dropping calls etc. Right now she is running stock, and got the OTA.

What I'm looking for is the most rock solid ROM out there. Doesn't have to be fast or flashy, just not go tango uniform 5-6 times a day.

Any opinions greatly appreciated!

You may want to try a factory reset to see if that stops the "Tango Uniform" situation (I get it :D )

Otherwise I think you will find no better ROM that UltimateDroid 2.5, CyanogneMod 6.1, or Bugless Beast 0.5. They are all solid stable and should stop the instability issues. I personally prefer UD because of the nearly infinite customization options available. CM comes second with options, and BB is a great "starter" ROM with a stock look and very few customizations.

I must say that LiquidFrozenYogurt is also up there in the rankings. You may want to try a few (let each one settle in for a few days) and see which one is best for THAT particular Droid.

Make a BACKUP first! :)

Hope this helps.

I will have to say that was one of the best "most stable ROM" threads to date. You know that you can always just try the "stock" rooted ROM, and then just OC it to a speed that you are comfortable with.

+1 the most trouble free for me has been FRG22D deodexed

FRG22D-DEODEXED-Release.zip

It lacks the features but I never have any issues with it. It also is smooth and fast with the right kernel.

Simply stunnnig 4.9 comes in a close second for me.

Thanks for the tips. Its OBE now--she's still having lockups (yes, did the factory reset before even starting this thread) and now had a D2 on the way as a warranty replacement.
