Help Moto 360 System Update thread

Ooooh now I didn't see that. Launch Fit on your watch. Swipe left twice, you'll be in settings. Turn that thing OFF!!!

How do you turn off unused features?
How do you turn off unused features?
I tapped the screen, went to Start, then I opened all the stock apps one by one. I slid my finger from right to left to access the settings for each app once it opened. On some apps you have to slide from right to left 2-3 times to access the app settings. Just slide until you reach the last screen because that's where the settings tend to be located for the app. Turned off the following apps: Fit, Moto Body Calories, Moto Heart/Body Activity (only allows notifications to be turned off). And Moto Body Steps (only permits notifications to be turned off.)

When did the wear app give us the ability to see battery usage? That's really cool. I'm not concerned about battery life anyway. Just FYI, if you are taking a road trip and using your watch with your phone you can expect to get 8-10 hours out of it. So bring your charging stand especially if you plan to use your watch for turn by turn directions for that entire span.

If you go into the Android Wear app on your phone and go under settings there is a check box for "Tilt to wake screen." Make sure it's checked. Other than that try a reboot.

Battery Report. So I have done a couple of days now of testing with the update using Facer. I am seeing about 26 hours use on a full charge, which while a little less then I saw before the update still works for me.

Los Angeles checking in. received the update about 3 hours ago.

I didn't do any funky rub your tummy stand on one leg and finger in the socket to get the update. it just showed up on the phone screen.

Make sure you have 80% or greater battery power in the phone.

finally got the update. It wanted me to put it on the charger before it updated and i let it sit overnight in which it updated.

Just got my notice, I shall charge and install this evening.

Meh - got the update, installed, no noticeable changes. Course I had no complaints prior.

I haven't received any incoming call alerts on the watch since the update. The watch lights up for a second when a call comes in, but just shows the clock face, as if to say, "Meh, I don't feel like notifying you right now. Too bad so sad."

It was doing that prior to the udpate as well, but it still worked for the most part.

I have had a noticeable hiccup. when on the charger, the face lights up like normal into "desk clock" mode, but then as it sits there charging it will go black for a moment then light back up, kind of annoying at night. I uninstalled the black face while charging app as I didn't see a reason to keep it, this may force me to go back to that.

:(

Mine was doing that last night. I did a reset this morning. I found a post on G+ about the same thing, he did a reset. It's clearly an issue, but not widespread. Hopefully it will be OK when I charge it tonight.

The funny thing is that my watch updated last week and has been fine up until last night.

Edit: Are you using WatchMaker? Now I'm reading that this issue may be that, not the watch. Ugh. That makes more sense as far as timing goes...

Edit edit: Yeah, it's WatchMaker. I just popped my watch on the charger and it blinked. Changed to a stock face and it stopped.

So are you saying with Watchmaker, the watch stays on when charging but as soon as you use a stock Moto face the screen will go blank when charging? I will have to test that out..

No, not exactly.

WatchMaker can (not for everyone apparently) make the charging screen pulsate/flash while charging. It fades from from bright to dim and then goes back to bright, it never settles down.

A non-WatchMaker face will go from bright to dim. End of chat. If you activate ambient on Wear then uncheck it it will shut the display off. You can't do that with WatchMaker right now, it just flashes/pulses away.

Hi Clementine! Thanks for the heads up. I am indeed using watchmaker faces. I did see an update to watchmaker this morning so I will see if it still does it tonight. If so I will swap back to moto face before bed until this gets resolved.

Thank you Ma'am!

Supposedly if you enable developer options and enable 'stay awake when charging' it won't do the flashy thing. I just enabled developer options and set it, I'll see what it does on the charger later.

To enable them, go to settings/about and click build number a few times. Presto.

Here is what I found last night (might be a repeat)
I am currently using a watchmaker face and Development options enabled so I Set Stay awake to 'Disabled'

- set on charger
- shows charging face
- dims then goes blank
- approx 1 second later screen comes on.. stays on
- if I set it to a Moto Face
- Place it back on charger
- then toggle Ambient mode on and off the screen goes bank and stays off

I found if I enable the 'Stay Awake' the Screen stays bright (with the watchmaker face)
