Help Moto Droid Lockscreen Troubles

Okay so this is the first time my phone has glitched up in almost 11 months of having it.

Basically, the lockscreen doesn't respond to touch..except on the first unlock on boot. Like after boot, if i lock it and try to unlock it again.. the touchscreen doesn't respond, at all. I've battery pulled many times to try and correct it with no success, I've also wiped the cache with no difference.

I'm running Android 2.2.1 stock. Any suggestions?? Or should I just take it to the verizon store?

A lot of people are reporting unresponsive screens at a variety of times, particularly when waking up the phone from sleep - how long have you waited after waking the phone up before trying? It may be that the phone itself is being unresponsive, not the screen....

I'm quite sure the phone itself is responsive because if i hold down the power key, the box will pop up as normal with no lag whatsoever.

Not necessarily - the power button could be an override button that will always show regardless of phone responsiveness. I doubt it too, but stranger things have happened.

If you could get something else...

have you considered changing he swipe to a pattern just for testing purposes? That would help tremendously, especially if you enable visual pattern - then you could see if the phone is lagging or of the screen truly dies.

I just tried that... And even with the visual pattern enabled there is still absolutely no response from the touch screen.

Okay, so today I took it to the verizon store and they tried a hard reset... with no success.. so they replaced it. Problem solved i guess. Haha. Thanks for the help anyway. :)
