Moto Droid Maxx Cases and Accessories

I feel like I'm talking to myself here, but here's some feedback on the Hornet Commuter:

You guys who got Commuters from VZW with no screen protector need not feel bad. OtterBox engineering gets a "D" from me on the protector included with the Commuter. The vertical fit is fine, but it's too wide horizontally to adhere to the screen at the edges. Even perfectly centered, the bevel on the screen underlaps the protector, causing a small, unadhered band down both edges. This wouldn't be so bad, except when the phone is put into the case, the rubber jacket seems to press inward on the edges of the protector, causing the unadhered place to expand and become visible, rather than being hidden under the rubber edge. In short, if you take the time to do it right, you'll likely be disappointed with the results. I'm not impressed.

I greatly prefer the wet-installation method protectors like Skinomi or Zagg anyway. The Skinomi that I have on my Maxx is just fine.

I've had a few Otterbox cases that came with screen protectors; I just threw them away anyway.

Just got the Diztronic PU case. MUCH better than the Qmadix I had on there. I prefer the minimalistic approach and this is a great approach at that.

Anyone want a Qmadix S series for cheap?

What do you guys think of this one, from Tudia? I like the look of the holes, but I am thinking they would collect tons of dust as time goes by and make it look ugly.

Holes? What holes? If you are referring to the back, that is a pattern and not holes.

I have this case by the way. The only "holes" are the cutouts for your buttons, mic, etc.

:o Sorry, but in the picture, it looks like holes. How do you like it?

I'm looking for a thin case and holster, doesn't look like Seidio has one for this.

Cases are easy to find. I'm in more need of a holster, not a pouch.

I have been a faithful Seidio customer for many years. I have turned *many* customers their way for nearly a decade. Their lack of support for the Droid line up has left me very tainted.

Suffice to say my enthusiastic support is gone.

I got my Diztronic case from Amazon. It's way more slippery that I thought it would be. I like the glossy finish on the front, which also seems to have better grip. Anyone care to share their experience with theirs? Is it less slippery than it seems to be? I am getting my phone today and I am debating keeping the case, or getting what I have had on two previous phones here

I have the Diztronic case. It's not slippery at all when using it. No problems here.

The "case friendly" version probably stops just short of the edge of the screen so as not to get all messed up with a case that wraps over. I have never had a problem with cases and screen protectors, but I have heard of it being a problem for some folks. Good for them for capitalizing on that! (Personally, I think there are much cheaper alternatives that are just as good as Zagg out there - StealthShieldz for one)

seidioseidio, I am in the same boat as Outatime. I used the Surface case and holster on all my past phones, and I recommended them to everyone I knew. However, I am about to change my name to Outapatience, because I have a feeling Seidio is not going to support the Droids any more. I am quite disappointed.

I am a long time Seidio holster fan. The problem I foresee is the camera and speaker position. Seidio has been able to position the spring clips to be out of the way of the camera lens on most phones, positioning it off to one side if necessary.however, on this phone the camera and speaker take up a good portion of the middle of the phone at the top, leaving little room on the side for a spring clip.

I messaged them again today, said they still haven't finalized there plans for the maxx. I wish incipio would start making holsters I am tired of waiting months for seidio. Seems like every device I have bought in the last 2 years takes them forever to put out anything. Unless you buy a Samsung plastic phone or something fruity

It's not a Droid Maxx specific accessory but I got my Chromecast today and I'm loving it.

How good is the playback quality? I got the netgear push2tv (for free after bitching at vzw for terrible service lol) and it sucks. Glitchy, and not that great of image. Can't playback Netflix without it flickering over and over.

Absolutely amazing. Truly no quality problems that I can tell.

I think I'm gonna go for it. For the price it seems worth a shot. Couldn't believe how bad the netgear PTV performed.

I'm looking for a TPU/Silicone type case that has a little more grippy feel than the Diztronic, the thinner the better. Any suggestions?

Hi Yno! I'll send your request for a Spring Clip holster to our product development team for consideration!

I have posted left and right about wanting Seidio products for the new droids and never got a reply. I'm jealous.

Please OH please! Make a CONVERT case for the droid maxx xt1080m!
