Moto E 2nd gen international bands?

Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing a Moto E 2nd gen for some extensive travel I'll be doing over the next year and a half, worldwide but primarily in Central & South America.

I'd like to be able to move from provider to provider by changing SIM cards as necessary, but I'm confused about the different international bands and the different Moto E 2nd gen models.

I'd like the 4G LTE model, but that's also described by Motorola as "US GSM," but it looks like it covers the GSM bands for where I'm going, actually for most of the world (according to a GSM world coverage map I looked at). It looks like the 4G bands are also the same, at least in Mexico which is the only country I checked.

Does the "US GSM" moniker not necessarily mean it's just for the US? Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Thank you very much in advance.

The Moto E (Gen 2) is quad-band GSM, so calling worldwide should be no problem. It's also quad-band LTE, which suggests that 4G support is similar.

Here's a breakdown of the various bands supported; looks like it covers all the bases. :)
