Help Moto G and rtf files

I'm having a problem with my new MotoG- just getting it set up with apps.
Tried to access an rtf file- I write notes on my desktop frequently using wordpad and send them to dropbox. I get frequent email attachments as well where the sender uses rtf filles.

Moto G says I need to install an app that can accept rtf files. The G came with Polaris Office. I have Polaris on my current cell-- an HTC One V, and on my Tab 3 7.0 LTE. Both of them read and edit RTF no problem.

On the G, Polaris can't even see the files in the open file menu. ???
On the one V, Polaris reports as Polaris Office V5--
ON the G no version displays-- Gioing to Google Play on the G, if I search for Polaris Office 5 it tells me it is installed on the G and no update shows.

Given the storage limits on the G, i'd like to go with Polaris office if possible since it comes pre-installed on the Moto G and I use it on my Tablet.

I also tried Kingsoft Office- same story- no luck with rtf files on the G.

I started to download Open Office for android- stopped when I saw the huge file size-90mb.

I did find an Office Viewer, but that doesn't allow for editing.

Hey I search around the play store for about 10 minutes. I found a couple rtf readers. But I remembered you said you wanted to edit the rtf file. So I kept looking and it was the last app I checked. It is not a small app, but it reads the rtf properly and you can edit the file as well. The name of the app is OfficeSuite 7, the install size is 47.9MB. It was the only one I found that does what your looking for. Tested on my nonrooted Moto G (XT1031).
