Moto G availability

So let's get this straight, does anyone know what charger specs (mA, wattage etc.) are appropriate for the Moto G? i.e. something that doesn't fry the battery with 'rapid charging' and also doesn't take 8 hours to fully charge?

Also, from the user reviews of the Motorola SPN5689A on Amazon it seems like a lot of people aren't getting very good charging results from it (taking too long to charge or not charging at all). It's rated at 750mA but I've read several reviews now that state that that is split between the two ports which is why it doesn't work with more modern devices with larger batteries efficiently or at all.

Someone please enlighten us!

I just scanned the User Guide (UK version) and could find nothing listed.

A response listed on the Motorola website says ...

"Any Motorola charger with the correct micro-USB tip will charge your Moto G. You will see the best results when the output of the charger is between 500 mA and 1.5 A. The higher the output, the faster your Moto G will charge.

If your charger output is higher, the MOTO G will automatically restrict the charging rate. If your charger is lower, it will simply take longer to reach a full charge."

If you only use 1 port on the SPN5689A I think all the current goes to the single port. I do confirm that if I put two phones on the charger it is much slower - should have pointed that out earlier. I think it works best with 1 phone and 1 bluetooth device (or just 1 phone). Each person in my house uses their own so the 2 phone issue is not a problem.
