Moto G on U Prepaid

U Prepaid I have looked around the forum and could find them as a prepaid carrier.

My mother wants to buy the Moto G on U Prepaid. U Prepaid can be found in Walmart or at US Cellular. The Moto G cannot be bought on U Prepaid website. The phone is more expensive through U Prepaid but it has the plan she wants: $50 for unlimited talk/text & 2GB of data. US Cellular is the only company that has coverage where she lives.

As far as I can see, Walmart does not have it in stock. How is one supposed to buy this then? She does not want the US Cellular prepaid plan, she wants the U Prepaid plan.

Considering that Walmart doesn't even list the U-Prepaid Moto G (even as in sore only or out of stock), I don't know how you cn say that it's cheaper at Walmart. (One carrier's version of a model may be very different than another carrier's version, and be a different price.) I don't see that she has much choice other than buying it from U-Prepaid (unless she's wrong about the coverge of other carriers. If US Cellular can make money there, the big 4 should be there too.)

The Moto G is $129.88 at Walmart. U Prepaid sells through Walmart and do not sell from their website. U Prepaid is powered by US Cellular and Alltel Wireless. US Cellular sells the Moto G for only $80 but their prepaid plan gives you 1.5GB less of data.

She said she is just outside of the coverage area of Straight Talk. She lives in a rural area. Straight Talk would have been really ideal.

Straight talk can be used on any of the 4 carriers towers. If she wants to use att or TMobile she simply calls and she for one of those sim cards. If she wants to use Verizon or Sprint she just needs to be a cdma phone that will work with whatever carrier she wants. Straight talk is a Virtual carrier so it is available anywhere there are towers.

Verizon is the only provider other than US Cellular (the best) would could provided adequate coverage. I did some reading and it is recommended that an individual be tech savvy to use a Verizon phone as most of the customer service reps are undertrained at Straight Talk. Interesting post and I will pass this information on to her.

If I was to buy a Verizon Moto G prepaid, at Best Buy, could I immediately activate it for Straight Talk instead? Also, anyone know if this phone can be activated on Straight Talk? I have read that Straight Talk does not have many Verizon 3G phones that are able to be activated.

Your best bet is to buy an unlocked phone and activate it. I believe that if you buy a phone from another prepaid service you have to wait a few months before straight talk will switch it over.


Any unlocked Verizon 3g phone can be activated onto straight talk for use on Verizon towers.
