Hi, I was wondering whether Chrome OS is able to recognise the Motorola Moto G if I were to plug it into my Chromebook to transfer files, photo's etc. Does anybody own both devices and could try it?

I have both devices and could try it for you. The thing is Motorola only gives you a power brick that is not able to be disconnected from the power brick. So you'll have to find a way to connect to transfer files. That is if you don't have the moto g yet.
If you could try it that would be great, thanks What do you mean? a Micro USB to USB cable? I don't have the Moto G yet, I have ordered one but it is out of stock
Welcome to the forums, blakeeha!
Just plugged mine into my Samsung Chromebook and it's only charging. I'll see if I'm able to download the drivers for it as that may be the problem. I know I've had issues in the past plugging a printer into it.
Thanks breadnatty08, I have looked at Motorola Connect but it doesn't mention anything about transferring files. I think it only allows you to send and receive calls and text messages from the phone. I've been looking for drivers but cannot find any that would work (only for Windows and Mac).
Edit: It seems to me that there are no drivers that are supported by Chromebooks for the Moto G. However, I may have found a workaround called AirDriod which is available to download from both the PlayStore and Chrome Webstore (links below) and allow you to send files, music, apps etc.
