Moto X+1 pre-release rumor thread

Motorola Mobility's twitter feed seems to have some information coming out: http://twitter.com/Motorola. Mentioned that the event in Chicago will have no live feed, but details will be released starting at 1:30pm CT Friday (September 5th). You can post questions for the Q&A session Friday using the hashtag #askmoto.
 
it's crazy to me that none of the tech sites have ever reported what time this thing is happening today.

Everything I've seen said it was the 4th and was based on this:

Now we can "find out more" tomorrow after hearing nothing today? I guess maybe today's event is not an announcement but just a gathering where someone can go and play with the new Motorola products.

I'm getting the feeling that Motorola is going to royally screw up this release.
 
I wonder if the Chicago event today is for media but they're told not to leak anything until tomorrow, and 1am CT tomorrow is some official release, maybe from China? Not sure why you would have an event at 1am in Chicago.

In the meantime, here's a point of speculation: how much similarity will there be between the X+1 and the smaller Nexus X? From the rumored specs perhaps the screen size is the only thing they'll have in common, with the Nexus a step up in just about every category.
 
Never mind , just found info on Moro's twitter that said there will be a private press event with no live stream today, and then a public event of some kind at like 2am or some crap.

Way to plan Moto! Idiots.
 
If they already have a Q&A set up for tomorrow afternoon, is it safe to assume that their unveiling is not going to give us a lot of information?
 
How much longer do we have to wait for the Nexus X launch? I've heard October, but I've also heard that devices have already shipped to India.
 
Just got confirmation from Motorola that there will be NO micro SD card. Also confirmed SoC is Qualcomm 801, not 800 like some of the early reports.

That's the phone I'm waiting for. I'm so tempted to get the new X....it looks fantastic. But I want a bigger screen.

Yet they put an sd slot on the cheaper device G. That irony alone makes the X pass worthy alone.
