Help Moto X Black Screen (only active screen working)

Hi guys

Today, out of the blue, my phone just blacked out. It kept working (I'd get notifications sounds, for instance), but I just can't see anything on the screen. The Moto X's 'Active Screen' still appears (so notifications and time both appear), but as soon as I unlock it, it remains black.

- Forced reset it and I got the options 'regular power up', 'factory reset', 'recovery', 'bp tools', 'bar code'.
- Tried regular and factory and they both reset the phone but same thing happens
- Tried 'recovery' but it shows the android's droid laid down and 'no command' (there's no SD card on moto x 2013)
- Tried connecting USB to my mac/pc but both desktops can't connect the phone
- Tried connecting via bluetooth but it doesn't work
- Tried changing SIM card, but again doesn't work
- Left it idle for 8 hours, shut down, and nothing!

I'm going crazy guys... did it just die forever??

thanks!!

Gabriel

Welcome to Android Forums.

Where did you buy it? Did you buy it new? What did the dealer tell you when you showed them your problem?

Hi Everybody

I am facing this same issue on my 3.5 months old Moto X (2nd Gen) since yesterday. One moment it was working fine, and from the next moment, the screen just stopped working... Like Gabriel, the phone is still functioning - I am getting calls and I am able to initiate calls too (using my Moto 360 connected to this phone), I am getting notifications, the 'Active Screen' still appears. But apart from that the screen just doesn't fire up.
I spoke to Motorola Customer Service, after trying all the options specified by Gabriel above, and they told me that the phone will have to be sent to a repair centre. And to top it, they told me that my phone, which was purchased in India, is not covered by warranty in Australia.
Has anyone encountered similar issues? Any resolution?

Regards
Ameya
