Trouble connecting to my wifi. Don't know if I have more than one problem or not but humor me and read through some background.
My phone can connect to ATT Data. It can connect to public wifi (e.g., Border's). It can connect to my home wifi, ummm, frequently. And this is the problem. 24/7 my wifi signal on the phone shows 'excellent' to 'good.' 24/7 my wife's cell and my son's cell can access home wifi. Mine? As a rule, 8A>5P M>F I can access home wifi. Not always, but most of the time. Nights and weekends? Rarely. I have checked 'scheduling' on the router. None. I can find no 'scheduling' option in my cell. Rebooted the router. No help. removed the battery from the phone for 2-3 minutes and reinstalled. No help. Updated the phone sw. No help.
I must add, on those 'off-hours' when I can't access the home wifi, I can still access ATT Data and public wifi with my phone without exception. Read a suggestion here? to reserve an IP for my phone on the router. My phone's IP is .4 so I reserved that on my router. No help. Since the wifi signal is good on my phone, I'm inclined to see this as a phone-specific problem, but I'm no nerd.
When I lose signal on my cell, going to Settings>Wireless Networks>WiFi Settings shows a constant rotation between 'Obtaining IP address,' "Scanning," and "Disabled." Finally, with frequency, if, while I have good wifi connection, I leave the house and return, I have lost wifi connection. Not every time but frequently enough I'm suspicious.
All that rambling to get me to this. Recently, while sitting at my PC working on my cell wifi connection, I noticed a popup on my PC. something about MotoHelperAgent (MHA) had stopped working. Found the file and restarted. went back to my cell and . . . yup, wifi was working. That evening, when my cell almost NEVER connects, I happened to think of MHA. Went to the PC, started the file, and within 2 minutes I had wifi connection on my phone. This AM I woke up - no wifi connection on my phone. You know what's coming. Went to the PC, started the file, and within 2 minutes I had wifi connection on my phone.
So, I see two (maybe) problems. 1) the apparent "scheduled" loss of wifi on my phonee, and, 2) MHA. My knowledge of cells is a recent ability to learn to spell "Android" so I will not place a bet on MHA as a factor, but it certainly seems to be.
What is affecting my 'scheduling' and how do I get MHA to run ALL the time?
