Help Motorola Atrix bricked

Lurker
Hello.

I have a strange problem with MB860.

Already asked my question at XDA and at Russian 4pda forums, searched for similar cases in google. But my problem can't still be resolved.

Here's my problem, in short.
Phone's info
system version: 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.us
build number: 4.5.91
baseband version: N_01.77.30P
kernel version: 2.6.32.9-00001-g41bc3e0 fpgh48@ca25rhe87 #2
webtop version: WT-1.2.0-110
android version: 2.3.4

Phone is in such condition now, when I select flashing mode:
"Starting RSD protocol support"

I have tried RSD 5.6, RSD 5.3.1. Drivers 5.3.0, 5.2.0, 5.0.0. Tried on different PC's. Used 2 different micro-usb cables.
Also I fully charged the battery using power supply:

What do I get?

  • When I connect phone to PC using RSD mode, it can not be detected neither in RSD nor in Device Manager

  • When I connect phone to PC using BP HW Bypass RSD, phone CAN BE DETECTED by PC. I see "Starting USB3 Hardware Bypass RSD mode. BP swithed to RSD mode". Phone detected as MDM6600 and "Motorola Flash interface" in devices. But I can't flash the phone with sbf file in this mode.
So my problem is that PC can't see this Atrix. PC can normally detect other Android phones. Can somebody advice me, what else can I do to make this phone connect to PC and to flash it?

There's a reason you can't find an answer...It's bricked.

I know of NOTHING that you can do to fix it. Possibly, a technician at Motorola with the Engineering cable (A special cable they use) might be able to use their software to re-flash the chip. That's a "Possibly" and even then, I doubt they would spend the time on it. They would probably just toss it and replace it.

About your only option is to turn it over to them.

If this is the result of you rooting/unlocking/loading a 3rd party ROM, it probably voided the warranty. So, you would have to pay to have it re-flashed. That might come in a little cheaper than buying a brand new one.

If this is something that happened on it's own, or as a result of a failed OEM update, then it should be covered under warranty. In that case, they will replace the phone.
