Help Motorola Atrix text notification - help?!

YaYaOk

Lurker
After looking at the "Similar Threads" I've noticed some people posted about the Cliq and the Droid... I'm not having the same problem... but I don't wanna resort to doing a Factory Reset.. so maybe someone can help.

Well basically, my text notification won't work. I mean it does, but it just vibrates. No noise or anything. Can anyone explain why? I haven't turned it on silent or anything.

The volume is up all the way... I've tried changing it to all the other notification ringtones possible...

But nothing works, I can't hear anything.. it just vibrates me.

IM BOGGLED. I don't know what other settings to change I already put all the text sound settings to default but that still didn't change a thing.

Please don't tell me I'll have to do a factory reset. :(

Oh.. wait.. I hope this is in the right forum :/

Welcome to the forums, YaYaok. <----- great user name. ;)

Notifications in menu > settings > sound and display as well as in the messaging app itself should match in volume and which notification. It is a bug in some devices, but they won't.. if one is set to lower volume or a different ringtone, you'll see an issue such as you describe.

Also, sometimes the issue can be remedied by going into application manager and clearing cache and data in the messaging app (always try clearing cache and data in an involved app before resorting to a factory data reset). Then reboot your device.

Hey thanks, it was a last second on the spot registration and I didn't know what to make my username :) Haha.

But Jeepers thanks so much. I tried both things checking the settings then clearing the data, and rebooting.. AND IT WORKS. :)
I can't thank you enough. Finally hearing my phone go off just made me so happy. Haha :)

Good to see the issue is remedied, YaYaok. And thank you for coming back in with the feedback.
