Help Motorola Triumph: Incoming Ring only Once.

KensterVF

Newbie
Why does mine only ring once? Any ideas? I've tried other ring tones, still no luck. It only ring once.

Thank you.

Ken

YES!!!! mine too. WTF??? $299 for this??? my old p.o.s. phone rang forever until I could hear it. This is unacceptable for a "smart" phone.

mine does this as well. i have a 3 second long sound as my ring, so i just doubled it. i figure if i dont hear it in 6 seconds im gonna miss it anyways.

It looks like someone forgot to add the "ANDROID_LOOP" metadata to some of the ringtones. If you are rooted you can open the ringtone in a program like audacity and add the metadata "ANDROID_LOOP" and set it to true.

Yeah, ogg only. Though it's not to difficult to convert your mp3 to ogg and it would give you a working ringer until the mp3 looping issue is resolved.

I had the same problem, but just cut a large portion of an mp3 as a ringtone...still only rings once, but the tone is roughly 20 seconds long.

Thanks for the response everyone. Hmm... so only ogg format loops huh? Mine is a standard "ring ring" (mp3 format) ringtone. I can't see myself out in public with "Hit me baby one more time -Britney Spears" ring tone. hahaha.

Ken :D;)

I'm glad someone else is having the same issue... I'll try to find which ones are OGG and set one of those. I'm another "digital phone" person myself.

Two questions:

1) What is the general procedure for taking any sound file, wav, mp3, etc.. and preparing it for use on the phone as a custom ringtone, and in what directory is it stored on the phone?

2) Can custom ringtones be used on an Android phone without rooting?

EDIT: Never mind, I got it.
