looks like i got the same problem. im running mik g 3.11v and just a few days a go it wont read that the phone is hooked up with the usb. ive been running this rom of a month now and not had any problems.

On EVOlte, how do you access the contents of the SD card thru stock methods? I got to looking at my storage usage, and I think that maybe I have a good bit of apps/data from my old 0G Evo that are on the card, but not being recognized by ICS. Then I discovered I can't figure out how to see what's actually on it without connecting PC....any tips?

You would have to download a free File Manager app such as Astro File Manager or ES File Explorer. I recommend going through the Play Store and trying out a few. I personally like Astro but I am sure others on here have their favorites to recommend.
Honestly I don't remember but I don't think it let you see everything on the SD card. On the LTEvo you can go to Settings and then Storage and then click Make More Space and you will see some general info on the card but it only shows Media files (Gallery, Music, Video, Mail Attachments, Browser). I really recommend a File Manager or actually even reformatting the card in the LTEvo (Unmount and then Erase).
It had a Downloads app that would show the contents of that sd card folder - unless something came in a later update or via HTC Hub or something, that was it.
When you use Astro File Manager or EStrongs File Explorer, your layout will be this:
- /sdcard --> internal sd card partition, not your physical card
- /sdcard/ext_sd --> your actual, physical, sd card that you added in
- /sdcard2 --> shortcut to /sdcard/ext_sd (exact same thing, iow)
That's different that your original Evo, where you simply had the physical card mounted at /sdcard - hope that helps.

I'm back once again guys. So I'll keep this brief. I had an OG EVO Rooted with a Microsdcard. I would just dump some music on it, but then after I got deeper and deeper into itunes, that became less possible so I started with Doubletwist. Now I have the 4G LTE and I'm having alot of issues. First of all, I know mass storage mode is "gone", is there any way to get it back? Secondly, I'm having issues on my Mac with all the storage. If I mount it as a disk drive, I get the Microsdcard I installed (nothing else) if I mount as a Media Sync and go through Android file transfer, I get the internal storage but not the Microsd card. I think this had to do with Doubletwist not working correctly either. If SOMEONE, ANYONE could shed some light on this, I'd be eternally grateful because I am at the end of my rope. The bottom line is I want my iTunes playlists transferred to my phone seemlessly as possible. And don't suggest google music because that never worked for me hahaha

It has an internal as well as external sd card.

it's much apreciated, but honestly doesn't help me at all. I need to get access to both the phone's internal storage and the external microsd card at the same time. I want it to default to the 32GB card over the phone's internal memory is basically what Im getting at. I want to "unmount" the phone storage and use the "storage card" instead as my defualt. I have alot more than the 9.93GB on my "Phone storage" There's way too much going on with three different storage places on this phone!
This is probably the simplest way to describe this. When you want to make something available offline on Google Music, it shows you how much space you have at the bottom. It's showing me roughly 9GB's of space but that is "Phone Storage" I want this stuff saved on "Storage Card" because that is my 32GB card

I use a Mac with mine.
I'm probably a propellerhead and that's why I am missing what you need.

im a PC user, and once i plug up the phone to the computer via usb, the phone lists options.. i chose mount as disk drive. this lets me see the SD card, which is what I want. i can then copy/paste files as i see fit.
if you dont have this option, you should :
physically REMOVE your SD card from the phone, use a card reader and read it from the MAC THEN work with it that way.

use wifi file explorer:

this way you can wirelessly move files using a web browser.

The internal sd card goes by the the Android standard mount point, /sdcard, while the external physical one goes by /sdcard2. There's a root mod that will let you swap their names, so anything writing to /sdcard will go to your physical card instead of the internal one.
Maybe that's the request here??

Thanks a billion guys but let me break this down step by step because it is confusing lol. I have roughly 19GB of music. It's synced within iTunes so I'd like to maintain all my playlists (I have over 50) so my options for doing that are 1. Doubletwist (which didnt sync with my playlists, I saw somewhere that it doesnt work for the 4GLTE because of this whole thing) or 2. Google Music. I went with Google Music, but as you all know its data based. I want all of it available offline. When I go to save it, I see 9.84 GB free (this is the Phone's internal SD card.) However, I have my own 32GB Microsd card installed. I want to save all the music to my external inserted SD card versus the internal phone storage. This needs to be changed on the phone and isn't *really* an issue with syncing it to a computer anymore
If this doesn't deal with syncing with a computer, then it must deal with app access to storage.
If that's the problem, swap /sdcard with /sdcard2.
Data gets to storage either through apps on the phone, or by connection to a computer. There's not a third way.
Either of the two can be dealt with, but you keep saying that you have a different problem. And it's not about the computer transfer.

V, you will have to understand that google music and itunes are not going to be fully compatible to where you can just dump apple right into google. you are going to have to go through the some hoops. I know you have a large library and at the end of the day you may end up getting your music fully transferred over but the playlists--probably not.
you are better off uploading your music through the computer to google music and then from there setting up your playlists from the computer.
you say you see the 9gb on board storage on the phone. ok. do you have any music there? if not, there is no need to fool with that partition.
if ALL of your music right now is FOR SURE 100% on your physical SD card you purchased and installed, i would just remove it from the phone, upload it directly form a computer to google music.
maybe i need that propeller hat EM had on yesterday...

by the by, i use google music exclusively.

Ok, this sounds like the real question, so let me ask - what is Doubletwist doing wrong?
Is it that it puts your music on /sdcard (internal storage) or something else?
Please use EStrongs File Explorer to check.
Can you specify a folder for Doubletwist? If so, /sdcard/ext_sd is the same as /sdcard2 (physical, external sd card).
Or is Doubletwist failing?
And you said don't mention Google Music because you can't get it working.
If the apps - Music and Doubletwist - only save to /sdcard and you want them to save to your external card, then swap its name to /sdcard.
Requires root.

I'm so sorry guys, I know this is extremely out of the ordinary. I'll try to explain it step by step once more. I have all this music that has been imported into itunes and after I did that, thrown into my music folder on my mac. I have all these playlists that I want on my phone for when i drive, hit the gym and so on (from iTunes) I found out since this that I can put music on my SD card from my mac, I just dont get the playlists. Doubletwist brought all the songs over, just not the playlists. I tried google music once more because it syncs iTunes playlists. HOWEVER, while that might in the end work, it is still using data which i do not want to rely on. I want to make all of google music avilable offline, but i cant change WHERE it gets saved(how it gets made available offline), it defaults to internal storage, not my 32GB card. I plugged my EVO into my SYNC USB port today and it recogniced the songs i brought over via drag and drop to the 32GB card on my mac, I just cant do playlists. And a side note, how come Beats Audio doesn't get activated when Im playing music via the USb port in my truck?

When you say play music via USB in your car, is your phone's music player working, or is your phone mounted to your car audio head as USB mass storage? If the latter, then the mod will break that, it makes everything MTP only.

It's hooked up as "Media Sync"
Then either option will work -
A. Change the /sdcard2 name to /sdcard and use Google Music. (I know we keep going back and forth on this, but that works.)
B. Use iSyncr and leave Google Music out of it.

Hi. I previously owned the basic eve 4g and when I wanted to move my music, I just went to "connect to PC" and chose to use it as a drive. The LTE has a whole new menu and no matter which option I choose my phone doesn't show up under "my computer" Any help?

When you connect your phone to the pc, open your phone, drag down the notification bar. Select the notification for your phone connection.
Select "media sync"
Your pc should connect, open "my computer" in here you should see a new drive or "evo"
