Help Mounting Android on Mac OS

I've been having this problem as of late. When I first got my Epic I was amazed that it played virtually every type of video. I would be able to throw DivX video on my unit without worrying about conversion. Now when I go to mount my Android phone I cannot see the drive in Finder. It is very frustrating because I simply cannot get it to work.

Any ideas?

The interface has changed fairly recently. Now when you plug your Epic into your Mac, using USB, pull down the drop down notification bar, and make your selection.

After syncing the android phone and putting it into mass storage. I still get the same issue. My mac just refuses to read the phone. I can't understand why? I've tried looking at every setting. When I first got the phone I could push any file directly on to the phone through finder. Was this a secret Apple punch at Google. Please somebody help me out. This is driving me nuts!

I'm running Mac OS 10.6.6 and I'm able to mount the Epic on my desktop. So it's not some secret Apple punch at Google.

when you plug the phone in is it immediately recognized?

Yes. But it is now different in how it recognizes it, compared to when I first got the phone. Must've been a system upgrade that changed it. At first when I'd connect the phone via usb, it would display an option menu right on the screen, asking me if I wanted to charge, mass storage, or tether the phone. Now when you plug in a usb cable, you'll notice something in the upper notification bar, saying usb connecting. Pull down the notification bar and click on, "select to copy files to/from your computer". Another menu will appear asking you to "mount" or "Don't mount". Select mount, and an imagine will appear on your desktop.

Edit: I'm using Baseband version DI18
Firmware version 2.1-update1
Kernel version 2.6.29

Operating system is Mac 10.6.6

my setup is the exact same as yours, but when I attempt to mount the phone, nothing happens on the mac end. tried different cables, and different USB ports (only 2 available--MacBook Pro 15"). This is the first Mac i've owned and got it in December (the 25th actually) and I got the phone in October. I have a win 7 netbook that I can mount the phone to but would honestly prefer to use the Mac (for obvious reasons). I can pull the card from the phone and access it using an adapter directly in the SD slot on the mac, but for some reason using it via USB cable. . .there's some issue.

gmcgirt I have the same issue. The most frustrating part was that it DID initially work. I have no idea what is wrong. Does anyone know if its the particular format of the SD card. Shouldn't the SD card be universal to NTFS and Mac?

guess i'm bumping a bit. . .I have the EXACT same issue. It worked initially, and I know it isn't the card. I can access the card by putting it in SD sized adapter and sliding it directly into the side of the mac. It's something between the phone and the Mac. I'm hoping someone, somewhere is having the same issue and has worked around it. Help?!?
