put your phone into debugging mode. Go to settings > Applications > Development. Click on USB Debugging. When you plug it in just do as you normally would by mounting and it will show up on desktop.
you would think that works but even turning on usb storage it doesnt seem to mount on the mac desktop most of the time, Im wondering if its an OS issue, my IMAC on 10.6 it doesnt mount but my probook on 10.5 it does just fine.
